GOLDS FOR WILL, LEAH & LUKE TAKE US TO 150 WELSH TITLES!

With the onset of the Summer holidays resulting in our smallest entry for years, our results at this Years Welsh Youth Open were a little disappointing.

Three Gold medals saw us a long way behind our friends at the Welsh Bushi-Kai, who won Eight, as we failed to top the medal table for the first time in years. However a Milestone was passed as we won our One Hundred and fiftieth official Welsh title!

There were several excellent performances, some resulting in deserved titles, some not.

Our most pleasing category was the Under 10 Boys Kata event where we were awash with talent!

Will Hellerman took his first Welsh title with a series of characteristically spirited performances. Just behind Will was Jack George in silver medal place.

Will and Jack were among a group of young boys, members and graduates from our Tigers class who show huge talent and potential. However; where were our younger girls?

Among the older children; two champions saying goodbye to the Childrens events at this tournament took their final Welsh Youth titles in style with Leah winning the Under 16 Girls Kata (ahead of Megan and Nikita) and Luke, champion in the under 16 Boys Kumite event.

As well as our champions, great performances resulted in silver medals for Nick Sherrin, Demi White, Megan Coles, Jack George and Kloe Christoforato with bronze medals won by Asa Madsen, Bradley Christoforato, Megan Coles, Nikita Denner, Daniel Page, Freya Hardwicke-Merry and Cori Morgan.

We are starting a Junior Kata Development class soon on Fridays where we hope to develop more  youngsters into potential Kata champions. Detaisl in our latest Newsletter.
